kcw.jpgEmbedding videos in Joomla content can sometimes a little difficult be; with a stock Joomla website, you really only have a main content area to bung embedding code in, but you have installed typically a wysiwyg editor, so that code incorrectly in html translation calls mess or otherwise shows not, while editing your content etc... of course, to facilitate the work, are extensions as plugins, that special tags to use in your content (such as all videos), originated, but hosted now, who wants to remember how right a 3rd party reference clip right?
I recently - Kaltura inspires its an open-source video platform, that which works just like some of the most important commercial (zB.Brightcove.)-only its cheaper (free?) and has some cool tools to your community use videos directly into your Web site - remix hosted to a huge range of samples from your collection to nothing on Kaltura member sites.
Kaltura just released an extension for Joomla and it looks pretty amazing; with it you can:
Upload / embed videos, embed Flickr/MySpace - video / photo / audio - customize media in your articles, managing media in a central control panel, the embed player on your website, edit and remix video to include in your page and more!
Now, still Kaltura doesn't solve the problem of embedding content from 3rd party hosts such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc..; it seems to offer, MySpace video embeds (ahem, what?) and thats about it.so you'll still have to somethign how to use the all videos plugin to easily embed, but Kaltura can a very easy way to upload and original video embed you can upload video files or directly from your webcam record...
